Green King, LLC’s Deep Drip™ Tree Watering Stakes are put to the test. 

Cal State Fresno's Center for Irrigation Technology tested wetting patterns of surface irrigation in comparison to watering through Deep Drip Tree Watering Stakes (sub-surface irrigation).  The test employed drip emitters totaling 5gph watering at the surface only, against Deep Drip™ with 2 x 2gph (4gph total).  The test summarized, "These findings indicate a broader wetting pattern (i.e., wetted depth) for the Deep Drip™ system compared to the surface drip system; thereby suggesting greater and deeper water availability across the root zone."  Using 20% less water via Deep Drip, there was still a greater saturation of the root zone relative to normal surface drip irrigation methods.
